Quarterback – Jordan Jefferson

Quarterback Jordan Jefferson

At the Tiger’s Spring Game I watched Jordan Jefferson and Garrett Lee and thought to myself that what will happen next season? Neither one looked like they really wanted to be the LSU Quarterback, can you imagine that? I could’t, if I could I would be the QB for LSU. Well to my surprise I caught an interview with Jordan Jefferson and thought that this young man is ready. He was poised, mature, and looked like the leader of a Tiger Football Team.

We all remember the Quarterback we saw in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl when Jordan Jefferson stepped up and took the leadership role. He said all the right things, played like he was possessed. Then the fall campaign of 2009 started and Jefferson was at best just trying to learn what to do. Most fans, sports writers, and for that matter, Tiger Nation, waited to see and we were very disapointed in his performance. He looked like a deer in the headlights and seemed uncomfortable in the spotlight. Since the Spring Game, Jefferson has matured and grown comfortable in the role of Quarterback. I watched an interview on the sports news and saw the leader that we waited for last season. The sports announcer said that “two freshman receivers were moved up to work with the upper class-man as they had caught the eye of the quarterback.” That was the first time I had ever heard him put his opinion out in the public. Now, I know he has not played a down yet this fall, but what a difference it could make. He knows the offense, he is mature, he is not just a freshman trying to impress the upper class man, and he has been under fire in many SEC games. Yes, we have come along way from the Chick-Fil-A Bowl to the Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Game. If I am right we will see a young man that has grown into his position and will lead this team to fabulous season.
